17 Inch King Chess Set is the largest set from the range of our standard King’s sets. It is one of the most popular amateur sets, a classic chess set that includes everything required in one package. It has been equipped with an insert tray for the chess pieces storage. The chessmen are made from hornbeam wood and they sit proudly on our beech and birch chess board.

The style of the chess pieces are unique and classy and the board itself has a nice design to it. It’s on the small side, but not small enough to make the pieces look cramped on the board and not too small enough to distract you from the game. Lightweight and compact so it’s very easy to take everywhere. Very happy with the set!

When I first this chess set I couldn’t believe it was as good as the pictured showed. But it was even better than what I saw! The pieces were so awesome, it was just really nice to finally get a magnificent chess set. The price was really low, for something like this. I love this chess set the best one I’ve owned. The detail work around the base of the board is very nice and elegant. The border is nicely done listing the ranks and files in proper order unlike some other boards I have seen. The finish is nice it looks like natural wood that has been sealed and then coated with a nice van dyke brown wiping glaze and then cleated for a very nice finish. The pieces are my favorite part, we’ll the queen mainly.
